The middle school is home to 1500 children, 93% of whom are considered economically disadvantaged. After speaking with the principal, she stated that “It’s very hard to get funding for areas related to music or theater” which is just another barrier to accessing music in our modern world that is already full of distractions and over-stimulation. This donation was my largest one yet and it consisted of countless acoustic guitars, electric guitars, violins, violas, amps, speakers, ukuleles, many keyboard pianos, xylophones, and bongos as well as supplemental music items such as music stands, keyboard stands, and music books.
